Completing Your Study Abroad Course Approvals

A PDF downloadable copy of the course approval form is available in your account under 'Enrollment Forms' and here.  You MUST have the latest version of Adobe Reader (
  1. Download the course approval form.

  2. For Pace Programs, links to the Course Catalogs on the individual university pages on the website. For Third Party and Independent Programs, links are found on the 3rd party websites.

  3. Using the Faculty Contacts page, contact the academic department corresponding to the classes you plan to take abroad (i.e history classes are approved by the History chairperson).  You can copy/paste the descriptions onto the course descriptions page (page 2) and/or attach the syllabi for each course to the email.  Emailing your faculty/dept. coordinators is strongly recommended.  You can also meet with the Department Chair directly to request approvals.  If course descriptions and/or syllabi are not available for your program, contact your study abroad advisor for further instruction.

  4. While you are required to take the equivalent of 12-18 credits abroad, it is strongly recommended that you select alternate courses to be approved, as courses can change or be cancelled before you arrive.

  5. You MUST meet with your academic advisor to review and sign your course approval form.

  6. Once you have obtained signatures by your Department Chairs and Academic Advisor, you can upload the completed course approval form to your account.
Once abroad some courses that you may have received approval for may not be offered at your host institution. You may take courses that have not been previously approved, but you must send an email with the course and descriptions to the Department Chair or Coordinator for approval.
